The best activity tracker is available on the web and in BodySite’s mobile app!

How Does BodySite’s Activity Tracker Work?

The activity tracker that you and your patients have been needing for better patient compliance is available to you right inside of your own BodySite provider account and app. BodySite’s activity tracker allows patients to track hundreds of available activities, along with steps, sleep, and water intake. When tracking an activity, patients enter their weight and how many minutes they performed the activity for. BodySite’s intuitive activity tracker then calculates approximately how many calories were burned during each activity.

Your patients also have the ability to sync their BodySite accounts with many different connected health devices that will allow for seamless updates of patient activities including sleep, steps, and exercise. Devices they can sync with their BodySite account that will help track activity include Fitbit and Oura Ring. Using connected health devices can give your patients a way to automatically sync the data collected from the devices into their BodySite account. While this can be a great help, BodySite’s activity tracker is just as easy to use manually.

Activity tracking with BodySite further enhances compliance, patient engagement, and guidance. There are many great features throughout the activity tracking function, but here’s a quick overview of the most important features that your patients can take advantage of.

BodySite’s Activity Tracker Allows Easy Activity Tracking from the Daily Tasks

For care programs with tasks that require your patients to track certain activities, they can easily track those activities from the daily tasks screen. When your patients check the task as complete, a pop-up will appear that prompts your patients to enter their data.

Say they’re needing to track 2 miles of walking that they participated in. Once they check the task complete, they’ll be prompted to enter how many minutes it took them when the pop-up appears.

Patients Track Activity in a Daily Tracking Interface for Easy Activity Tracking to Match the BodySite App

Your patients can easily log their activities by searching an activity to track and choosing from hundreds of different activities. Once they select an activity, they are prompted to enter their weight for that day along with the number of minutes it took them to perform that activity. They will then click ‘Calculate’ and BodySite’s intuitive activity tracker will calculate approximately how many calories were burned during that activity. If the information is correct, the patient will select ‘Save/Track it!’.

Patients Can View Graphs to Compare Tracked Steps, Sleep, and Water Intake

Besides the list of hundreds of activities included in BodySite’s activity tracker, patients can also track their number of steps for each day, their number of hours of sleep for each night, and how many ounces or glasses of water they’ve consumed for each day. Once they’ve tracked that information for at least one day, a graph appears for each one that they can use to compare their data for each day and track their progress.

Providers Can Create Custom Tasks for Tracking Other Activities

Even though BodySite’s activity tracker has hundreds of activities that can be manually tracked, there may be circumstances where you need a patient to track an activity that’s not already included. If that’s the case, you have the ability to easily create a new task for them to track an activity. While they won’t be able to manually track that activity through checking the task as complete, you can prompt them to track it by writing their weight and how long they performed the activity for in their journal or by tracking it themselves for their own use.

All you would have to do is go to your libraries and select tasks. From there, you would go to +Create New Task and select “Create a custom action”. You will then be able to type whatever you need for them to track.

BodySite’s activity tracker is also very simple to use on the app. Patients can easily take advantage of these same features even when they’re on the go. The video below demonstrates just how easy it is for your patients.

Why Should You Encourage Patients to Track Activity?

Encouraging your patients to track their activity can provide many benefits for them and may help in achieving their health and lifestyle goals. Regularly tracking their activity can allow patients to become advocates in their personalized care along with bettering their self-management skills when it comes to different health conditions or even just maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

One of the biggest benefits of activity tracking is awareness of their current activity habits. Keeping track of their current lifestyle will allow them to identify what may need to be changed or what progress they’ve made in their activity goals, if they already have goals set. If not, they’ll be able to set goals based off of their current activity habits.

Your patients will also be able to hold themselves accountable if they are regularly tracking their activity. Whenever they’re trying to reach their goals of doing certain activities everyday, they may start to become more committed to being active everyday whenever they can see what’s been tracked and what they haven’t achieved for each day. By seeing their activity data, they can also adjust their habits as needed in order to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

How Can Biometric Tracking Assist Providers?

If your patients are regularly tracking their activity, they’re not the only ones that are benefitting from it. Monitoring their activity can help you in better guiding their care. Whether they’re tracking activity for you to monitor their progress while they’re on a care plan or tracking it throughout their daily lifestyle in order for you to get a better idea of their needs, body tracking will help you gain a greater understanding of how to take better care of each individual patient.

Being able to access your patient’s activity tracking data will allow you to provide better diagnoses and the opportunity to personalize their treatment as much as possible. Fortunately, activity tracking with BodySite allows you to easily follow along with the activities of your patients. Once you’ve come to a better understanding of their needs and an idea of a care plan that would work for them, we have 60+ remote care programs to choose from that are all customizable using our content management system, if you choose to modify the program.

Say you’ve noticed that a patient has been having a hard time getting a certain number of steps in each day. You could assign them to the Basic Walking Plan in order to help them reach that goal with daily walks, tracking tasks, and motivation.
