Oura Ring is now integrated with BodySite!
Oura Ring is now integrated with BodySite! Our long awaited connected device integration is finally here. The most popular piece of connected health device technology that combines style and function with powerful tracking to promote improved outcomes, can now be synced with your patient’s BodySite account.
What is Oura Ring?
Oura Ring is a powerful connected device that collects and aggregates patient biometric data, and is worn as a stylish and comfortable ring on the patient’s finger, like high-tech jewelry. Healthcare professionals are calling Oura Ring “the most advanced sleep connectivity tracker on the market” and it’s so much more.
How Does Oura Ring Work with BodySite?
All patients need to do is slip the Oura Ring on any finger and their data will be stored in their Oura account. With the Oura Ring integration into BodySite, the patient’s biometric data then seamlessly syncs into the patient’s BodySite account for easy viewing by the provider and the entire care team. If patients need to track their sleeping patterns for a program such as the 30 Days of Sleep Hygiene program, Oura Ring will make the process much easier.
While it’s most commonly known to track patient’s sleeping patterns, the technology is actually measuring an impressive amount of additional biometric data. Oura collects and reports a patient’s heart rate, steps, activity and readiness, to determine what is going on inside the patient’s body while they’re asleep and while they’re awake.
The multiple data points collected also include oxygen levels, the body’s resting heart rate and more. It can also predict menstrual cycles, track your steps and other types of patient activity.
How Does Oura Ring Integrate Into BodySite?
The Oura API Integration allows BodySite to grab the patient’s data as Oura Ring collects it and display it inside of your HIPAA-compliant remote patient care dashboard so that both you and your patients can view this data along with the other patient management/education tools inside your account.
Therefore, once a patient’s record is opened on BodySite, their profile will automatically populate with all the data collected from their connected device, so you can easily monitor their progress.
So rather than patients manually tracking/entries your patient’s connected device data will be displayed in real time throughout the day, and if patients are wearing their Oura Ring to bed, all throughout the night as well. To integrate Oura Ring into their account, patients can log into their account on a computer and synch it from the My Connected Apps page under Settings. Once that’s complete, the patients steps, sleep data, daily readiness score, activity, heart rate and calories expended will automatically integrate into your account so you can monitor patient data in realtime.
Why Should You Encourage Patients to Use Connected Health Devices?
Connected devices used by your patients generate a vast amount of data, and this can seem overwhelming. But with the right remote patient monitoring hub, you’ll be able to view, sort and manage all of that patient biometric data seamlessly and effortlessly in one consolidated view.
That’s where your expertise and the BodySite platform come in. When you receive this patient data you can not only assess where the patient is at with their health goals but you can use this data to advise their care (like enrolling them on a daily care program) and track their progress.
The digital health universe is now saturated with devices and data that tell patients what’s wrong (or right) with their health and wellness. But all of the data in the world is useless unless someone with expertise provider the patient guidance and education that helps the patient get to a better outcome.
An integrated guidance and monitoring platform like BodySite gives you, as the provider, the ability to transform this free flow of information into an actionable and fully comprehensive care plan for your patients.
