Checking Off Past Tasks Now Available on BodySite for More Flexible Patient Tasks

BodySite is excited to announce a new feature for both the web and the app: the ability for patients to check off past tasks. This ability is perfect for tasks that patients weren’t able to get to or weren’t able to check off before the end of they day.

Whether or not patients check off tasks is a great way to measure compliance, and this new feature gives the option for your patients to have a little more flexibility to comply with the daily tasks. One study showed that patients forget 56% of their instructions shortly after leaving the clinic, and another study from Brown University found that only about half of the recommendations and information discussed can typically be accurately recalled by patients. With the ability to assign tasks to patients and have them be able to check off past tasks, this may give them more opportunities to comply and recall the instructions and information given to them.

Along with patient compliance issues, things often happen throughout the day that cause patients to lose track of time. They may forget to watch a video or write in their journal, or they may just forget to check off a task that they’ve already completed. It’s possible that patients may fall asleep before they remember to check off their tasks, their WiFi may go out before they got the chance, or maybe it just slipped their mind on a certain day.

Besides everyday life keeping patients busy, a recent report by Sleep Junkie shows that 54% of Americans work an average of 40-49 hours per week, 22% work an average of 50-59 hours per week, and 9% work an average of 60 or more hours per week. With an 85% chance that patients are working 40+ hours a week, it’s likely that they may have no free time to complete their tasks some or most days.

With this new feature, patients will now have the chance to check off those tasks that they weren’t able to get to or weren’t able to check off before the end of they day. However, you will have the option to turn this feature on or off from plan-to-plan depending on the nature of it.

To use this feature, log into your BodySite account and select a plan. Once you’re inside of a plan, go to “Patient Reminders” in the column on the left-hand side.

Once selected, you will see the Patient Reminders settings pop up. Next to “Allow Patients to complete tasks from previous plan days”, you can choose whether to turn the feature on or off.

This new feature will be especially convenient for busy patients who may or may not be able to complete each and every task every single day. It will even be convenient for those who simply weren’t able to check off the task even though they had it completed.
