Below is a modified/summarized transcript of BodySite’s ePrescribe LIVE Webinar which initially premiered on September 10th 2025.

BodySite ePrescribe is Here!

Thank you, Katrina. You all know me as John Cummings, the CEO and founder. Katrina is our Customer Success Manager.

We’re really excited about this because we’ve been working on it for a very long time. We’re finally live with it, and we’re really excited about the solution we’ve chosen.

I want to start with a very quick overview. I won’t belabor the details of these slides. You probably know a lot of this already, but if you’d like the slides, I’ll be happy to share them with you if you email me when we’re finished today.

We’re going to talk about why this matters. As a practitioner, you know how important it is to have electronic prescribing. We’ll cover how Rcopia, which is DrFirst’s interface, is integrated directly inside of your BodySite account. Then we’ll do a live walkthrough of the prescribing experience inside BodySite, review compliance, security, and patient safety features, and wrap up with pricing and Q&A.

Why This Matters

As many of you know, there are regulatory pressures and compliance requirements pushing toward fully electronic prescribing. Paper is no longer permitted in some places. Beyond regulations, this is about patient safety, quality of care, and your own efficiency.

In many states, there’s pressure to only do electronic prescribing, especially for controlled substances, and they’re phasing out other methods. But it’s not just for controlled substances—having electronic prescribing in place makes compliance easy to demonstrate, with a full paper trail handled by Rcopia.

Electronic prescribing eliminates much of the human error that comes with written or faxed prescriptions. You’ll also benefit from built-in alerts: drug-drug, drug-allergy, and dosage checks, all visible as you prescribe. This lets you make changes in real time or acknowledge the alert as appropriate.

Prescriptions arrive instantly at pharmacies—no faxing or callbacks unless needed. During onboarding, we’ll ensure your callback number is correct, and refills are just a couple of clicks.

Patients expect this. As we’ve discussed, healthcare is becoming consumer-driven. BodySite is focused on ensuring your patients feel that modern experience, which also makes your practice more competitive.

About Rcopia

We chose Rcopia because it’s DrFirst’s ONC-certified application, trusted for years and certified as a Surescripts Gold Solution. It provides real-time pharmacy connectivity across the country.

It includes:

  • Prescription drug program checks (optional)
  • Real-time medication history comparisons
  • Allergy and dosage interaction checks
  • Integrated workflow inside your BodySite patient record

Live Walkthrough

Highlights:

  • The prescribing button is built right into each patient record in BodySite.
  • Rcopia opens within the BodySite interface—no need to log into a separate system.
  • Allergies, active medications, and pharmacy information can be stored directly within the prescribing interface.
  • Alerts appear in real time, for dosage errors and drug interactions.
  • Staff roles can be set with different permissions: prescribers, clinical staff, non-clinical staff, or front desk.

BodySite ePrescribe Pricing

The most common question we’ve gotten: how much does it cost?

  • E-Prescribe: $40 per month
  • Onboarding Fee: $99 one-time (identity proofing through Experian, ~30 minutes)
  • EPCS (Controlled Substances): Included at no extra monthly cost, but must be added during onboarding. If you add it later, you’ll need to pay the $99 onboarding fee again.

Optional:

  • Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP): $499 one-time onboarding + $5/month

Note: If you plan to prescribe controlled substances, it’s best to include EPCS at the time of onboarding to avoid duplicate fees.

Other ePrescribe Key Points

  • Licenses are required for each prescriber with an NPI. Each prescriber pays the $99 onboarding and $40/month.
  • Staff who do not sign prescriptions do not need a license fee. They can be assigned roles to view, prepare, or manage prescriptions.
  • Compounding pharmacies can be added on request.
  • GLP-1 prescriptions (such as through Lilly Direct) are supported.
