Withings + BodySite: Unlocking Body Composition Data

Weight alone doesn’t tell the full story of your patient’s health. Whether that number on the scale is up, down, or stuck, it doesn’t help you solve the patient’s health problems if you don’t know what that weight is composed of.
At BodySite, we’ve always believed in going deeper than the surface. And now, with our latest integration upgrade, we’re delivering on that promise in a whole new way.
More Than Weight: Now Syncing Body Composition Metrics
BodySite now syncs additional body composition metrics from Withings BodySmart scales—not just weight. This means that if you or your patients are using Withings smart scales, you’ll now see a broader, richer set of data automatically populate in the BodySite dashboard. In addition to weight, the new metrics include:
- Fat Mass
- Muscle Mass
- Body Fat Percentage
- Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
- Lean Body Mass
In the past, providers using BodySite could rely on foundational health metrics like weight and BMI, which are helpful—but not the whole story. With this upgrade, the platform now unlocks the full picture of the patient’s health.
Why does this matter? Because having access to these new metrics allows you to gain greater insight and context into your patient’s situation and condition.
Fat loss might be happening even when the scale says otherwise. Muscle gains might be hiding behind a higher weight. A drop in BMR could indicate the need to reevaluate nutrition. When you’re tracking real changes—at a physiological level—you’re better equipped to help patients make meaningful progress.
This shift also helps you to provide more proactive care. Instead of reacting to plateaus or setbacks after they happen, you can anticipate changes and intervene early. For example, subtle shifts in lean body mass or BMR might signal that a patient’s plan needs adjusting before they even notice a change in energy or weight.
How Withings + BodySite Work Together
Withings is known for sleek, patient-friendly devices that offer medical-grade accuracy with consumer-level ease of use. These tools are designed to fit effortlessly into people’s daily lives—which is a big deal for long-term engagement.
But when used alone, the data often lives in a silo, disconnected from the larger care journey. Plus, in the hands of a patient, they’re unable to interpret this information in the same way that you can as their care provider.
That’s where BodySite fits in.
With our expanded integration, key Withings metrics flow directly into your BodySite patient profiles. No manual entry, no data gaps—just a clean, real-time snapshot of each person’s health, ready for you to analyze, monitor, and respond to with precision.
This connection turns everyday data into a clinical advantage, allowing you and your patients to save time. This leads to more satisfied patients and more efficient workflows for you and your team.
How the Full Picture Impacts Care
Patients are more likely to be motivated when they see real proof—graphs, trends, and detailed changes that reflect their hard work—they stay motivated.
Instead of obsessing over a single number on the scale, they start to appreciate their body’s complexity. That mindset shift can be the difference between a short-term effort and a long-term transformation.
For instance, consider a patient who has been working hard to lose weight but is frustrated because the scale hasn’t budged in weeks. With the new metrics from Withings devices that many patients already use, you might discover that while their weight remains the same, they’ve gained muscle mass and lost fat—something the weight metric alone couldn’t tell them.
This shift helps patients see the true progress in their body composition, even if the weight doesn’t change as expected. When patients are able to visualize this real progress through the devices they’re already using, they stay motivated and more engaged in their journey.
It also enables you to adjust plans more accurately, whether it’s refining nutrition, workouts, or other health strategies, all based on insights from everyday devices.
