2023 Resolutions for Your Healthcare Practice

Not long after the ball drops and the holidays come to a close, we begin to think about what we can do to make this year better than the last. What are you going to do?

For healthcare professionals, the New Year usually means making resolutions for your practice, your patients and your staff to ensure that everyone has a productive, safe, and enjoyable year.

While we’re sure you already have some excellent goals in place, here are a few ideas to consider as you plan for 2023:

Focus on Patient Experience and Engagement:

Your patients’ experience is the lifeblood of your practice, and today, they have more options than ever. With a few clicks, potential patients and even current patients can find alternative practices to visit.

That’s why it’s vital to ensure that the moment a patient enters your practice, they feel welcomed and well-cared for. Make a resolution to prioritize the patient experience in everything you do, from the way you greet patients to the way you communicate with them about their care whether it’s in-person or virtually.

A great tool to assist you with this is a centralized HIPAA-compliant online portal where patients can chat with you before, during or after your visit to make sure they have all the tools they need to be successful.

By engaging patients through technology or simply being more proactive in communication, you can improve your patients’ overall experience. If your current digital systems don’t offer ways to connect, educate and engage your patients between visits, consider implementing a remote patient care platform in your practice.

Prioritize Self-Care:

As a healthcare professional, it’s easy to get caught up in the demands of your practice and forget to take care of yourself. Make a resolution to prioritize self-care in 2023, whether that means taking breaks when you need them, finding time for exercise and relaxation, or simply being more mindful of your own well-being.

The best way to do this is practice what you preach. Take some time to figure out what gaps you have in your own health, be it physical, mental or even spiritual so that you can become the best care provider you can possibly be; you deserve it!

Improve Efficiency:

You know all too well that time is arguably the most precious commodity in healthcare. It’s easy for practices to get bogged down with paperwork and other administrative tasks.

Make a resolution to find ways to streamline your processes and reduce waste in order to free up more time for patient care. This could mean investing in new technology, implementing new systems, or simply being more mindful of how you use your time.

By consolidating your patient communication, documents, telemedicine, patient education and staff messaging onto one platform, you can save you, your staff and your patients time, thus maximizing care and efficiency.

Stay Up to Date on Industry Trends:

The healthcare industry is constantly evolving, and it’s important for healthcare professionals to stay informed about new developments in their field. Make a resolution to regularly read industry news, attend conferences and seminars, and engage with colleagues to stay up to date on the latest trends.

BodySite is proud to be a part of the many Tarsus Medical Group brands, which offer excellent conferences and seminars for provider education, such as the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), LivDerm, Cardiometabolic Health Congress, PainWeek and MedTech Impact.

You are your patients’ greatest resource so it’s important that you’re going beyond required continuing education and really investing in expanding your medical knowledge to best serve those in your care.

Invest In Automation:

In 2023, it’s essential for healthcare practices to have strong online tools for their patients and their staff. One extremely helpful tool for improved patient outcomes in between office visits is Automated Patient Education.

Automated Patient Education is a system that sends daily information, tasks, resources, meals, etc. to patients daily in between office visits. This helps patients to simultaneously comply with your care instructions and feel invested in their own care. So even if they are not in your office you are still caring for patients automatically.

There are a number of different automated patient education tools available, and it’s worth exploring a few options to see which one works best for your practice. Some things to consider when selecting a tool include:

  • Ease of use: You want a tool that is easy for you and your patients to use. Look for tools with simple interfaces and clear instructions as well as a tool that is available on desktop and mobile.
  • Customizability: You may want a tool that allows you to tailor the content and format to meet the needs of your specific patient population.
  • Includes a practice management components: It can be helpful if the patient education tool you choose integrates practice management tools such as scheduling and staff communications.
  • Integrates with Connected Health Devices: such as Fitbit, Apple Watch, Withings scales and watches, Oura Ring etc.

Support Your Team:

Finally make a resolution to help your team to provide tools and support for your team members, and to create a positive and supportive work environment for all.
